Rick put up our new Xmas tree yesterday, while I was asleep, and we hung our 15-odd unbreakable ornaments on it. Over the course of the night, we listened to it being denuded at intervals; in the morning, it was bedraggled-looking, as two squirmy kitties insisted on climbing through it (Nibbley moreso, surprisingly.) By the time I got back from horrible work today, the tree looked like something the cat brought in and then brought up. The whole middle section's bent down under the weight of tree-bound kitties, and the bottom branches now touch the floor. Nibbley just pushed the last ornament out of the tree and onto the floor. And the two cute little mouse ornaments I've had since I was born were sweetly kindly deposited in front of the bedroom door overnight. (Sigh.) We knew it wouldn't last, I'd just hoped it would last more than a day. At least they had a good time climbing through it (a bit like the Faraway Tree, really), and fights were almost non-existant last night.
