Apart from "Supertroopers", which was pretty crappy, we had a great weekend ;) 3 whole days of relaxing before school and (more importantly) Festival. Decided not to go to the concert today- couldn't be bothered, frankly. Getting disenchanted with Avril, anyway. We spent the whole weekend lounging, watching movies, talking Star Trek, walking, eating junk food, chatting about nothing. ;) R's right, that's the best way to wake up- slowly, bantering about whatever comes to mind. Smore-flavoured poptarts (mmmm...) I feel so relaxed now (didn't even get my back massage, either!) Ready for the week ahead ;) Can't wait for school, either. The Maker-Or-Breaker. Pretty much decided to go to Centennial after graduation, if Share likes the PR program- unlike Ryerson, it doesn't take 3 years to complete, and it has co-op.

I WANT A NINTENDO SYSTEM! NOT A GAMECUBE, NOT GAMBOY ADVANCE, NOT N64, NOT EVEN SUPERNINTENDO!!! I WANT A PLAIN OLD BORING 1980s NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM!!

=( can't find one anywhere. Not Radioshack, not Toys R Us... *sulk*

Anyway. R and I, having reread the bit about the Titanic in "10.5 Chapters," decided to look up the passenger list. Apparently, the story "Three Short Stories" is remarkably similar to an experience his great-uncle-possibly (he couldn't remember the exact relationship) had- the movie "A Night To Remember" was supposed to have filmed his uncle as having escaped by dressing up as a woman (the uncle later sued the film producers and won.) The story in "10.5 Chapters" is about a similar incident, starring a Lawrence Beezley. So we looked up the passenger list, and found both his uncle-whatever ("A.A. Dick", first class) and Lawrence Beezley (second class.) We ALSO found that a cousin of my great-great-grandmother's second husband (Cosmo Gordon-Lennox's cous, Sir Cosmo Gordon- "Cosmo" was apparently a popular name back then, god know why) had been on the Titanic as well, with his wife Lady Duff Gordon. Strange fates that move us... Rick's distant relative on the Titanic with my even more distant relative (although Marie Tempest had an adventurous womanhood, full of petticoats and movie cameras and suchlike, we're reasonably sure our branch of the family isn't from Cosmo, but the man she was cheating on him at the time with, whoever that was.) Strange but fitting that their decendants should end up together. :)
