Maybe I'm just growing up, or maybe my ass is stretching. Either way, I'm slowly feeling I'll be able to handle school. I have 6 subjects this year, all with an ass-load of homework (and without discussing the relative merits of colonoscopies and German Scheisse-porn, I should be able to accomodate my own particular ass-load.) Compensation, Intro to Biz, Occupational Health and Safety, Intro to HR Management, Law and HRRIS (Human Resources Research Information System, computer programs which help you in HR.) So far, I'm finding a strange affinity with Compensation and HRRIS. Occupational Health and Safety is stupid-easy, Law is stupid-hard. Oc. is half common sense, half stuff my Dad taught me when I was 14. The prof, who's very realistic and very nice, asked "Why is it that employers get nailed with responsibility in workplace accidents?" And I raised my hand and said "Bill C-45." And there was this tiny little silence, and then "Yes, exactly." Anyway, should ace it, but I'm surprised I'm not actually feeling an attraction to it. Law is just totally unrealistic. The prof like Sean Penn but blond and 6'2". With long hair and a suit and a biz-caj-California kind of style. Ech. Intro to Biz is taught by the same prof as Comp, who's very cool and very practical, but I'm not very interested in ti. HRRIS is easy so far, we did Word (if you can believe it) last week and are doing PowerPoint next week. Seems I'm the only one in the class who might be interested in continuing with Information Systems. Into to HRM sort of ties everything together, and the prof is my favourite- I brought him to work last week, and he sat in on our ViewPoint meeting. So everything's getting more manageable.
And as you could probably tell, I'm in the process of stalling on doing my homework. :)
